Wilma Day

Wilma Aileen Day, age 99 of Caneyville passed away Tuesday, February 15th 2022 at the Brandenburg Nursing & Rehabilitation Facility. She was born December 22nd 1922 in Edmonson County, Kentucky, the daughter of Hessie & Artie Raymer Anderson. Wilma was a devoted farmwife, dedicating her entire life to tending the family farm with her husband, Owen, raising a variety of livestock over the years. She was known as a very sweet lady and a devout Christian, who spent most of her days on the farm, but always enjoyed those friends and family who would come visit and were always welcome in her home. She is survived by her brother, W.D. Anderson; two sisters, Nora Lucille Wheeler & Janice Schultz; her niece and caretaker, Marcia Stansell; and a host of nieces & nephews. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Owen Barnett Day. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday (February 19th 2022) at the Caneyville Memorial Chapel. She will be laid to rest in the Layman Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12 noon until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Caneyville Memorial Chapel is both honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Mrs. Day.
