Rita Brooks

Rita L. Coats-Brooks, age 83 of Jeffersonville, IN, passed away Saturday, January 18th 2020 at Wedgewood Healthcare in Clarksville, IN. She was born December 28th 1937 in Caneyville, KY, the daughter of Ray M. Cooper and Elfie Marie Bratcher Cooper. She is survived by two sons, Chester Steven Coats (Carmen) and Gary A. Coats, one sister, Tonita Embry, three grandchildren, James Coats, Amelia Brooks, & Stephanie Coats, and two great grandchildren. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Chester Coats & William Brooks, two sisters, Loretta Alvaretz & Carmen Patterson, and two brothers, Linden Cooper & Ray Cooper. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday (Jan 22) at the Caneyville Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in the Chapel Union Cemetery in Welches Creek. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday (Jan 21) and from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
