Onis Meredith

Onis Meredith, age 82 of Caneyville, Kentucky passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021 at Baptist Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born April 17, 1939 in Bee Spring, Edmonson County, Kentucky the daughter of Hillery and Virgie Lowe Meredith. Onis was a homemaker and a very strong willed, patient and devoted mother to her nine children. She enjoyed reading, gardening, playing games, and coloring. She had a strong relationship with God. Left to honor Onis' memory are her seven children, Steven Meredith (Sally) of Caneyville, KY; Joseph Meredith, Sr. (Barbara) of Brownsville, KY; Anthony D. Meredith (Alice) of Falls of Rough, KY; Mark Meredith (Kay Dawson) of Rhineyville, KY; Michelle Troublefield (Phillip) of Leitchfield, KY; Christopher Meredith (Courtney) of Falls of Rough, KY; Hilary Dawn Meredith (John Dennis) of Caneyville, KY; 19 grandchildren, Stephanie Meredith, Jenny Cox, Steven E. Meredith, Stevie Meredith, Jessica Becker, Joseph Meredith, Jr., Joshua Mudd, Willie Mudd, Tonya Neff, June Meredith, Emily Meredith, Brandon Phoutharansy, Kesada Poutharansy, Thane Troublefield, Lillie Troublefield, Gage Meredith, Aidan Jones, Wyatt Cardwell, and Chase Watson; 29 great grandchildren, and seven great great grandchildren. Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles G. Meredith, a son, David Meredith, a daughter, Millie Catherine Meredith, a sister, Dolus Hayes, and a great great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, April 30, 2021 at Caneyville Memorial Chapel in Caneyville with Bro. Charlie Lacefield officiating. Burial will be in Layman Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Friday at the funeral home. Family and friends who wish to honor and remember Onis at the visitation or the funeral are required to wear a mask for the safety of all those in attendance.
