Nicholas Mudd

Engineman Master Chief Petty Officer Nicholas Shawn Mudd, age 43 of Caneyville, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2022 in Leitchfield. He was born on September 21, 1979 in Elizabethtown the son of Larry Ray Mudd and Debbie Kiper Phelps. Nick was a Master Chief in the U.S. Navy which he served from July 15, 1999 until April 30, 2022. He was a gentle giant, a big teddy bear who would do anything for the people he loved, whom he called his "Circle of Love". To those he loved he never failed to tell them that he loved them, no matter how short the conversation. In his free time, he enjoyed being outdoors, football, wrestling, mechanic work and watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Nick attended The Restoration Place. Left to honor Nick's memory are his children, Phillip James "P.J." Mudd, Erynn Mudd, Elyssa Arroyo, Eleana Arroyo, and Ruben Arroyo; his wife, Dawn Arroyo Mudd; his father, Larry Ray Mudd (Paula); his mother, Debbie Kiper Phelps (Gary); his grandfather, Roy Mudd, Jr.; two brothers, Michael Larry Mudd (Carolyn) and Matthew Brian Mudd (Dreama); and several nieces and nephews which he loved dearly. Nick was preceded in death by his grandparents, Donald and Noretta Kiper and Rose Janette Mudd. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, October 28, 2022 at Caneyville Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday and again from 9:00 am until service time on Friday at the funeral home.
