Marilyn Gaye Lee, age 79 of Caneyville, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Tristar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. She was born on September 4, 1943 in Welch's Creek, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Damon and Christal Embry Woodcock.
Gaye was a school bus driver for Butler County Schools for 33 years. She thoroughly loved her family and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them. In her free time, she enjoyed tending to her flowers and going to church at Flatwood Church of Christ.
Left to honor Gaye's memory are, one son, Mark Lee (Lisa); one daughter, Beth Embry (Tracy); six grandchildren, Tenille Ingram (Eric), Ashley Ashby (Ricky), Talisha Kirby (Adam), Matthew Lee (Julie), Samantha Jo Ray (Chaise) and Terrah Ray (Caleb); sixteen great-grandchildren with one on the way; two sisters, Dale Gootee (Don) and Kim Norris (Charlie); and several nieces and nephews.
Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, S. J. Lee; and one son, Gregory J. Lee.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Caneyville Memorial Chapel with Bro. Ray Phelps officiating. Burial will be in Flatwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday and again from 9:00 am until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
