Garrill "Hero" Lewis, age 59 of Caneyville passed away Thursday, March 10th 2022 at his residence. He was born June 23rd 1962 in Indiana, the son of Wavie J. Pierce & Phyllis Jean Pierce. Hero was known as a jack of all trades who could accomplish any task that needed to be done. He loved working on engines, ranging from traditional vehicles down to golf carts and side by sides. Hero also enjoyed attending tractor pulls, loved good food by discovering new restaurants, and playing guitar, but most of all, he loved his family and helping others, he never met a stranger and was always someone his family and friends could depend on. He is survived by his wife, Anita Lewis; his son, Brian Garrill Lewis (Jesinda); his father and step-mother, Wavie J. & Phyllis Ann Pierce; his brother, Tony Pierce (Tammy); two sisters, Cathy Embry (Kent) & Donna Pierce; his step-brother, Jeff Nash (Tammy); his mother-in-law, Mary Bratcher; and his two dogs, Boss & Snoop. He was preceded in death his mother, Phyllis Jean Pierce Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday (March 12th 2022) at the Caneyville Memorial Chapel with Bro. Curtis Decker officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Zion Harmony Church Cemetery in Morgantown. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday and from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Caneyville Memorial Chapel is both honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Lewis.
