Frances Embry

Frances E. Embry, age 88 of Caneyville, passed away Tuesday, October 12th 2021 at the Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield. She was born June 21st 1933 in Butler County, KY, the daughter of Collins & Ruby Woolsey Bryant. Frances was an extension agent for over 20 years at the University of Kentucky Extension Office and served as a home health nurse until her retirement. She was a talented artist who enjoyed painting, particularly landscapes, and enjoyed her family history with a wealth of knowledge about her family's genealogy. She is survived by her son, Billy D. Embry (and partner Sheree and her son, Connor); six grandchildren, Chris Embry (Baillie Tomes), Taeh Decker (Carey), Candace Winchell, Kenton Embry, Connor Charles, & Misty Clark; thirteen great grandchildren, Ethan, Emily, Ayden, Landen, & Owen Embry, Annelise Decker, Isaac & Ava Mudd, Paige Winchell, Grandpup-Mu & Samson, and Lillian & Ella Duggins; two brothers, Collins Layton Bryant & Lowell Thomas Bryant; three sisters, Mary Goodwin, Gladys Lawrence, & Joyce Annis; and her daughter-in-law, Beverly Smith (Oval). Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Cecil Collins Embry, her granddaughter, ShyAnne Embry, and her former husband of 35 years, Cecil J. Embry. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday (Oct 17th) at the Caneyville Memorial Chapel. She will be laid to rest in the New Hope Cemetery in Butler County. Visitation will be held from 12 noon until service time at the funeral home on Sunday. Caneyville Memorial Chapel is both honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Ms. Embry.
