Frances Brooks

Frances “Fran” Gayle Litsey Brooks, 75, of Caneyville, passed away on February 18, 2024, at her home.

Fran was born on July 1, 1948, in Grayson County to the late Proctor & Ruby May Green Litsey.

She loved working in the community, Night Owl Homemakers Club and playing bunco. She retired from the Department of Community Based Services in the Division of Protection and Permanency. She was an active member of the Caneyville Community Club for 40 plus years. Fran was a member of Fall of Rough Baptist Church.

Fran leaves behind one daughter, Jennifer (Wayne) Carnes; two granddaughters, Fallon (Joseph) and Lauren; two grandsons, Josh (Tiffany) and Caleb (Olivia); and 13 great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Betty (Paul) Witten and Barbara Warfield. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Aside from her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Brooks.

Funeral services will be held Saturday (February 24, 2024) at 1:00p.m. at the Caneyville Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held at the Caneyville Funeral Home on Friday (February 23, 2024) from 11:00a.m. to 8:00p.m. and again on Saturday from 9:00a.m. until time of services. Burial will take place at New Hope Cemetery.
