Ervin Erdest Turner, 70, of Caneyville, passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Mr. Turner was born in Butler County, Kentucky on May 5, 1948 to Erdest Wesley and Bulah May Embry Turner. He was a farmhand and a chipper operator for Scott Lumber in Henderson, Kentucky. He enjoyed farming and loved to go fishing. He also loved University of Kentucky basketball and every child he ever met. In addition to his parents, Mr. Turner was preceded in death by a sister, Rebecca Wilson; two brothers, Roger Turner and Matthew Turner; a brother-in-law, Jim Barre; and two sisters-in-law, Kimberly Turner and Linda Sue Turner. He is survived by eight siblings: Virginia (Bobby) Phelps, Robert (Janice) Turner, Hubert (Cindy) Turner, Michael (Elizabeth) Turner, and Elaine Herring, all of Henderson; Evelyn Barre of Utica; Charlie (Melanie) Turner of Robards; and Silas (Nancy) Turner of Quality. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, and his caregivers, Leona Lynn Frank, Peggy Winchell, and Melanie Fentress. Cremation was chosen. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, October 27, at the Gilyville Community Church in Henderson. A potluck lunch at the home of Charlie and Melanie Turner will be held following the service. Caneyville Memorial Chapel is honored and privileged to have been entrusted with the care of Mr. Turner.
