Cora Cardwell

Cora Mae Cardwell, age 83 of Caneyville, passed away Sunday, January 8th 2022 at the Medical Center at Bowling Green. Cora was born May 23rd 1938 in Butler County to the late William & Myrtle Wilson. She loved the outdoor life, hunting, fishing, and raising a garden. But most of all she loved her family. She leaves behind a son, Avery Flener, his wife Carla; a sister, Phyllis Gumm, her husband, Ed; and a son-in-law, Phillip Taylor. She also leaves behind her three grandsons, Kevin Taylor (Emily), Brent Taylor (Kayla), & Jeremy Flener (Beth); one granddaughter, Sarah Newton (Jessi); eleven great grand kids; several nieces & one nephew; and two special men she thought of as sons, Billy Taylor & Walt Kaelin. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Avery Flener & Theron Cardwell; her daughter, Patty Taylor; one son, Owen Flener; one grandson, Adam Flener; three brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday (Jan. 13th) at the Caneyville Memorial Chapel. She will be laid to rest in the New Hope Cemetery in Butler County. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the funeral home. Caneyville Memorial Chapel is both honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Mrs. Cardwell.
