Charlie Smith

Charlie Smith, 81, of Leitchfield, passed away Tuesday, March 1st, 2016 at the VA Medical Center in Louisville. He was born on Friday, March 16th, 1934 in Butler County, the son of the late Clarence and Bertha (Farris) Smith. Charlie served in the Army and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was also a construction worker. Charlie is survived by his wife, Stella (Barton) Smith of Leitchfield; his niece, Linda Payton (Brian) of Spring Lick; three brothers-in-law, Rex Barton (Carolyn) of Leitchfield, Jim Barton (Susie) of TN and Raymond Barton of GA; two sisters-in-law, Pauline Parsley and Violet Sue Richards both of IN and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Friday, March 4th at 11:00 am at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville. Bro Phillip Crume will be officiating. Burial will be in the McCanless Cemetery.Friends may call at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville Thursday after 3:00 pm and Friday from 9:00 am until time of service.
