Bill Higdon

Bill Higdon, age 80 of Leitchfield, passed away Friday, April 30th 2021 at the Norton Hospital in Louisville. He was born February 19th 1941 in Grayson County, KY, the son of Louis & Loula Cockriel Higdon. He is survived by four step-children, George Preston, Faye Preston Stewart, Kay Preston Daley, & Kathy Preston Knickelbein; three grandchildren, Amy Jo Nugent, Amanda Sandlin, & Gavin Sandlin; seven step grandchildren, Wendy Wheeler, Daniel Stewart, Abby Brown, DeLaina Cook, Sarah Roberts, Victoria Preston, & Mary Oost; three great grandchildren; and fourteen step great grandchildren. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Avon Ruth Hack Higdon; his daughter, JoAnn Higdon Sandlin; step-daughter, Janie Preston Taylor; two sisters, Mary King & Betty Pruitt; and one brother, James Higdon. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 3rd 2021 at the Caneyville Memorial Chapel. He will be laid to rest in the Shrewsbury Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., Sunday and from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Monday at the funeral home. Family and friends who wish to honor and remember Bill at the visitation or the funeral are required to wear a mask for the safety of all those in attendance.
