Russell Farris

Russell Farris, age 73 of Caneyville, passed away Thursday, October 21st 2021 at the Norton Hospital in Louisville. He was born May 18th 1948 in Shrewsbury, Kentucky, the son of Tim & Florence Cook Farris. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and later worked for General Electric before his retirement. He was a loving husband and father and enjoyed hunting turkeys and deer in his leisure time. He is survived by his wife, Frances Stewart Farris; three children, Laura Russ, Janet Blachowski, & Karen Ann Dockery (Luke); two special grandchildren, Haley & Tyler Dockery; four additional grandchildren; one great grandchild; and two brothers, Jimmy & Walter Farris. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Jessie, Raymond, & Shirley Farris; and one sister, Alene Seaton. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Tuesday (Oct. 26th) at the Caneyville Memorial Chapel. He will be laid to rest in the Simpson Cemetery in Caneyville. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., Monday and from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
